Jasmine is the girl who shares Charlie's life in Alphaverse.

At age 14, Jasmine was sold by her parents into the Cape City sex trade. It was the only way her C3 family could pay off a debt to the local underworld. Details on how she met and came under the protection of Charlie are sketchy, but the transaction involved her slimy manager, Jobbo, as well as detective Sew Sew Tukarrs, and it is rumored that it involved the taking of a life.

The deal made, Charlie took over her contract and became her protector, friend, and lover. The shocking life she was forced to lead as a young person affected Jasmine deeply, leaving her a hardened survivor, filled with rage and distrust that is deeply buried inside her.

Though she relied on Charlie to escape the streets, Jasmine vowed never again to be the property of another human being. She finds peace in creating her photographic journals, a distraction from the torment that still haunts her.

When Charlie disappears without a trace, Jasmine is torn between her concern for his safety, and a growing fear that without his protection, she will be forced back to the streets. As time runs out, Jasmine can't help but feel betrayed by what Charlie did to her - abandoning her to the fate of the Cape City jungle.

Paula is Jasmine's identical twin in Betaverse. Although she certainly has all of her beauty, she holds none of the pain or fears that torment Jasmine.

Her life in South Africa was uneventful until her mother died, when she was forced to leave Cape Town University and work with her father at the Kajani Café. Where Jasmine's life is overflowing with drama and intrigue, Paula leads a quiet life, almost empty. There have been a few romances but she usually breaks them off, content to follow fate and quietly support her father and their business that is just scraping by.

All this changes the day Charlie Jade bursts into the Café, convinced her real name is Jasmine. His desperation touches something in her heart and instead of being repulsed by him, instead she's intrigued and drawn to him. This instant chemical attraction to Charlie leads her to places she never knew existed, and eventually bullets fly at the Kajani Café.
